Despite my formal training in the sciences and the world of IVF, my life took a profound turn in a different direction following a serious health issue that forced me to re-evaluate my priorities.

In 2009, seeking a form of expression and healing, I turned to painting, drawing inspiration from nature and organic forms. Creating art provided a purpose unlike any other, leading me to delve into ceramics in 2015 and later, cultivating a passion for watercolour painting.

My roots in creativity trace back to childhood, influenced by my father’s restaurant business and my mother’s involvement in interiors. Cooking has always been a love, with each recipe and dish viewed as a work of art. Over the past decade, I dedicated myself to renovating personal projects in the world of interiors.

After years of keeping these creative pursuits dormant, I decided to share my recipes and present them alongside my clay creations. This journey led to the inception of Foodphilosophie on Instagram, where my dishes and artworks were showcased.

From this fusion of creative endeavours, Apoesthisis emerged, aiming to encompass all artistic avenues pursued. The name is derived from two Greek words — APO, meaning ‘from,’ and ESTHISIS, meaning ‘senses’ — embodying the idea that “Love is the poetry of the senses,” as beautifully expressed by Honoré de Balzac.
